About this tool
Display π rounded to a chosen number of decimal places, from 0 to 15. This tool uses the browser's Math.PI constant and toFixed() formatting, rather than an arbitrary-precision digit algorithm.
Best use cases
- Copy a rounded π value for a small calculation or code example.
- Compare how decimal-place rounding changes a displayed constant.
How to use it
- Enter an integer from 0 to 15 in Decimal places.
- Click Run to round Math.PI to the selected precision.
- Copy the result. Keep the original numeric value in calculations when premature rounding would affect accuracy.
Round π to six decimal places
Input
6Output
3.141593The output is rounded, not truncated: the seventh decimal digit rounds the sixth up.
Scope and limits
- Supports 0–15 decimal places. Higher requested precision is rejected rather than displaying misleading floating-point digits.
- This tool does not compute hundreds of exact digits, and rounded results are approximations of π.
Data processing
Rounding and copying are performed locally in the browser.
FAQ
Is this calculating new digits of π?
No. It formats Math.PI, the JavaScript floating-point constant. More decimal places do not create more mathematical precision.
Does six mean six significant digits?
No. It means six digits after the decimal point. The result 3.141593 has seven significant digits.
